The 2023 Riesling Heiligenstein Alte Reben is made from vines that are more than 65 years old, including a parcel of vines planted in 1923. It was made in one 2,500-liter barrel. A touch of dried fruit and pale pineapple makes the first impression. A slight lift follows, bringing an aromatic hint of conifer resin. The palate is superbly juicy, linear and chock-full of mouthwatering, ripe lemon and gentle, pale peach. Everything is bedded on stone and tingles with a touch of iron-oxide spiciness. Superb, long and elixir-like. Drink 2030-2060.
