The 2010 Barbaresco Asili Vecchie Viti opens with a classic Asili bouquet of rose petal, mint and small red berries. Sweet, rich and beautifully layered in the glass, with plenty of Asili silkiness and perfume, the 2010 speaks to a total sense of grace. Rose petal, mint, crushed flowers and licorice are some of the many notes that add nuance through the finish. The 2010 can almost be enjoyed today, but it will be even better in another few years. The firm Nebbiolo tannins are as classic as classic gets. This is an example of a wine that might have been a bit sweeter and fresher with less time in barrel. 2016 - 2030
Paleish ruby with orange rim. More power and concentration on the nose than the Pajé and finer, too. Fine balance between powdery tannins, acidity and really fine and ripe Nebbiolo fruit. Quite tannic for the moment. 2018 - 2034
