A highlight of Jadot's whites this year, the Duc de Magenta Clos de la Garenne seems to have more richness that its peers, with buttered peaches and silken poached pears over some preserved lemon fruit on th enose. The palate has a white fruit focus, tensile in its acidity but more generous in body. The wood is well judged, sappy and lightly smoky but not overbearing. Refreshing with real bite on the finish, this is a complete wine that you could approach within the next year.
