The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is yet another wine from the appellation that has quite a bit of reduction on the nose, but again, I like the fruit profile with more red than black, more sense of Pinot Noir. Returning after 15 minutes, the aromatics blossom and gain more intensity and florality. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-bodied tannins, fresh and perhaps one of the most elegant Clos de Vougeot. Very harmonious and poised, this is a wonderful, pure wine that will give a lot of pleasure. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. (Drink between 2026-2048)
A rich vivid purple. Heady, luxurious, dark raspberry and lush plum, all rather gorgeous. A little oak weaves its way inside. The balance of fruit, red and black together, works well on the palate, with quite high acidity.
