Medium depth raspberry hue with pale ruby rim. The usual Stodden approach to oak with a tasteful combination of smoky and toasted aromas is subtly refined by an additional note of dusty minerality. Blackberries, cherries and plums lay a sound foundation of fruit which can handle the impact of some serious tannins. The almost gravelly expression of slate perfects the image of a powerful yet reserved Spätburgunder of the highest caliber.
