Mid yellow. Class and weight on the nose. These vines are situated very close to the Clos de la Garenne so the comparison is interesting. Heightened ripe fruit, definitely some fresh apricot, but adequate acidity and in no danger of toppling over. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Oct 2024.
Folatiere sits near the top of the slope and is the largest Premier Cru in Puligny, divided into three parcels. It is always a wine of tension and so it proves in 2023 for Jadot with lemon zest, candied citrus peel, wet stone and struck flint coming through on the nose. There is a sense of powdered sugar and vanilla bean on the glossy-textured palate, this is fine in texture with a bittersweet fruit profile that is all lemon and lime. Sappy and tightly wound, give it a year or two in bottle before approaching.
