Steely in its focus, delivering notes of rooibos tea, red currant coulis and blood orange zest, all flecked with a mouthwatering savory hint. The long, mineral-edged finish shows terrific precision.
It's a stunning Pinot Noir, a blend of the region's most iconic vineyards. French for Santa Rosa, and Santa Rosa Road in particular, this wine is a blend of La Encantada, Domaine de la Cote, Sanford & Benedict and La Rinconada. It's floral and fleshy with opulent aromatics of church candles, smoky clove and dried Mediterranean herbs with a streak of ocean salinity. The palate flashes red fruits and spice with hints of sauvage: wild red berries, dried mint and a structured note of rooibos. The finish leans into savoury and saline but hints at a serious longevity to this wine. 2024-2036.
A blend of select barrels destined for the Sta. Rita Hills Cuvée bottling, the 2021 Pinot Noir Sainte Rose is lifted and floral on the nose, with candied red fruit, dark berry, tobacco leaf and black tea aromas. The texture is plush and layered with a tangy, energetic finish, offering another level of concentration and breadth than the introductory bottling.
