Founded as a farm by Giuseppe Boasso upon returning from WW2, the estate was converted to vineyards in the 1980s. With holdings including the excellent Margheria, Lazzarito and Gabutti vineyards, the style here is quite forward and approachable, with a deftness of touch.

This shows upfront licorice with dried flowers and an underlying, herbal tone. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, with an austere tannin profile that is complemented and rescued by a fleshy thread of fruit. Once it comes together it should become an exceptional wine. Try from 2027.
