A cracking pinot noir drawn from fruit across the Chatto property in the Huon Valley. There's a touch of Doris plum in this year's model, sliding in comfortably next to the ripe black cherry tones. Hints of exotic spice, dried shiitake, crushed stone, cedar, a fine mist of wild herbs and wakame, charcuterie and subtle leaf litter suggestions. Savoury and long on the palate, with a fine, chalky tannin grip and a bright cherry-skin acidity as those flavours draw away slowly. There's a subtle sense of horsepower to this wine, but its arc is graceful and true. Great drinking.
