Based on the 2019 vintage and disgorged this year with three grams per liter dosage, the NV Brut Premier Cru Les Vignes de Vrigny wafts from the glass with aromas of green apple, white flowers, freshly baked bread and crushed mint. Medium to full-bodied, pure and fleshy, it's vinous and precise, with racy acids and a sapid finish. Drink 2023-2033.
The 2023 disgorgement of Vignes de Vrigny is 50% 2019, 30% 2018 and 20% 2017, with 2g/l dosage. This new release is a triumph, with a pale straw colour and intense nose of stone fruit, ripe citrus and fresh bread. The mousse is creamy and refined, giving a generous mouthfeel that sets the stone fruit at the core beautifully. The lees tones are gentle but persistent, adding a hint of brioche. The fruit quality is pristine this year, fleshy but precise, no doubt due to the proportion of 2019 in the blend. Immediately delicious, this will only improve with a year or two in bottle. Excellent.
