The wines at this estate have always been well received but it is widely accepted that the new generation of the family, Fabio Fantino, has raised the quality immensely. The 2021s might be some of the best wines ever made here and they represent very good value for money too. They are modern but retain typicity and energy.
The Conterno Fantino 2021 Barolo Ginestra Vigna Sorì Ginestra shows a balanced display of dark fruit, crushed rose, rust and black licorice. This wine offers a special layer of complexity, when compared to the others in this portfolio, that is underlined by rich texture. It shows generous volume and depth, all backed by firm but chalky tannins. Fruit maturity is taken to impressive heights while maintaining the wine's inner energy. 2027-2045.
