Maurizio Anselma’s family bought plots within some of the region’s best vineyards during the 1970s. Somewhat of an enigma, the wines are rarely submitted to critics for tasting but they are some of the very best wines we have tasted from the region. Classic in structure, they and need a lot of time but there is a Musigny-esque perfume and elegance that runs through the range. Highly recommended.

Serralunga d'Alba. Cask sample. Pale ruby. Chalky, stony notes hovering over rich raspberry fruit. Juicy and perfumed cherry and raspberry fruit with clayey tannins. Fluid and almost light of touch. Great balance but radically different from the normally much darker expressions of this cru.
