Tasting Notes

What a wealth of fruit is there, plus a streak of nervous energy, this is very well done. Always late to pick here but it hasn’t disturbed the fresh energy while optimising the fruit volume. Very good indeed. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Oct 2024. ****

Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy (98), January 2025

With Puligny to the south and east-facing slopes, Charmes brings together richness and tension in its finest examples. The nose here is creamy, spicy and broad with succulent orchard fruits and baking spices dominating both the nose and palate. Buttery, fleshy fruit gives the palate a silky mouthfeel, this is a generous, typical Meursault armed with a measured backbone of zesty acidity. Good length with a savoury, nutty finish.
