Cote Rotie L'Angeline, Chambeyron 2018

Tasting Notes

A mix of two terroirs (Les Moutonnes and Chavaroche), the 2018 Côte Rôtie L'Angeline is another inky, dense, powerful wine from this family. Black raspberries, smoked blackberries, cured meats, leather, and spice all emerge from the glass, and this full-bodied beauty has a rounded, supple texture, ripe underlying tannins, and a great finish. It's more approachable than the Lancement release and already superb, yet it's still going to evolve gracefully for 15-20 years on its balance and purity. I'd be happy to have bottles in the cellar. (Drink between 2021-2041)
