Moulin A Vent Mortperay, Domaine Anne-Francoise Gros 2019

Tasting Notes

The domaine purchased 3.80ha of the lieu-dit En Mortperay in 2017, half a hectare very new, the rest with 60 year old vines. The grapes are brought to Beaune, vinified as whole bunches, one tank of three under carbonic maceration for 10 days, the other two more classic. Ageing is partly in foudre, completed by 228 litre barrels. This is really interesting as it starts like a floral pinot and finishes more on gamay. Really quite lovely and with some crunchiness too. Tasted Oct 2019.
