“With the A.P. #6,” – originating in the same parcel each year – says Oliver Haag, specifically of his 2009 Braunebeger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese A.P. #6 “I try to emphasize filigree and mineral aspects.” As with last year’s rendition, fig and pink grapefruit are prominently featured, and there is a combination of luscious fruit – in interplay with stony, saline, and wafting floral notes – plus alluring creaminess and striking delicacy. Arguably this is more refined and elegant today than the corresponding Juffer Auslese, but also just a bit less rich and deep. It, too, lingers with memorable length and should be capable of delivering profound pleasure for 30 or more years.
