Tasting Notes

The 2018 Barolo Albarella is gorgeous, and also one of the handful of wines in this vintage with notable character. Layered and medium in body, with real depth, the Cannubi has quite a bit to offer. Dried flowers, mint, cedar, tobacco and incense all build in the glass, playing off a core of macerated dark cherry fruit. What a nice surprise this is. Drink between 2024-2038.

Just mid ruby. Perfumed, earthy and minerally and still a little closed on the nose. Lots of juicy red fruit, that is still to open up fully. Beautifully finely chiselled tannins on the finish. More to come, no doubt. Drink between 2024-2034.
