Deep, glistening ruby. Displays expansive, mineral-accented dark berry, kirsch and incense aromas that are complemented by floral oil, bacon fat and exotic spice nuances. Chewy, densely packed and energetic on the palate, offering intense blackberry, blueberry, violet pastille and fruitcake flavors that slowly tighten up with air. Finishes on vibrant mineral and floral notes, with youthfully gripping tannins and superb tenacity. (Drink between 2027-2037)
Plum, cassis and dark chocolate. Medium- to full-bodied, with fairly soft, massy tannins, softer than you might expect from Cornas, with very ripe fruit. Juicy and approachable, which is quite atypical for Cornas, but no unsurprising for such a hot vintage. From lieu-dit Reynard, whole bunch fermented, matured in barriques and demi-muids of between three and eight previous uses. This cuvée is a selection of their best barrels. Around 2,300 bottles made.
