Fine fresh mid lemon. The stones are to the fore with a few citrus notes as well. Then kicks on really powerfully, with a touch of oak. This is weighty and impressive but not yet quite in place. Huge energy behind, very promising.
This is assuredly the grand cru of Meursault in all but name. The wine is spicy and rich, with a complex nose that combines lemon peel and green apple, with notes of mint, herb and mown grass, along with beeswax and a suggestion of honey. The palate is equally complex, with a waxy texture and great richness, but also a truly astonishingly lively and fresh acidity that carries this to a tremendous finish. The difference between this climat and the rest of the village is really apparent here. (Drink between 2025-2060)
