The 2024 Stars In The Dark is aged around 40% in 5,000-litre unlined concrete vats, the rest in neutral oak. This has superb pure black cherry and blueberry fruit that blossoms in the glass, a little more concentration than the '23, as you would expect, wonderful delineation. The palate is framed by silky smooth tannins, but there is real depth to this wine. Garrigues and touches of bacon fat, very Rhône-like, this lingers long in the mouth. Sheer class. 2027 - 2045
Intoxicating Syrah aromas fill the glass here, with notes of rosemary, star anise, pepper and blue fruits. The palate is sappy and energetic with reasuring grip. It feels light on its feet yet intense, with perfumed fruit, pink peppercorns and notes of soy, dried herbs and pressed flowers. A complete, moreish and mouthwatering wine, this is a brilliant effort that warrants bottle age but is already delicious.
