This 11 hectare property in Lalande de Pomerol, owned by the Durantou family since 2000, is situated 1 km from the famous plateau of Pomerol, and is visible from the back door of Eglise Clinet. Les Cruzelles is often better than many Pomerols and Saint Emilions that we taste, yet far cheaper - thanks to the unfashionable appellation. Grapes are selected from the best terroirs of the vineyard - clay soils similar to those on the plateau of Pomerol. Recent vintages have been stunning and there have been impressive results in recent blind tastings including the "Southwold Group". Always the top wine of its appellation and arguably the best wine produced in any "satellite appellation" of Bordeaux. A wine that always reminds us of a top Pomerol, yet the pricing policy is moderate. We absolutely love Les Cruzelles and thousands of Farr Vintners' customers have enjoyed drinking it over the last twenty years.
The 2025 is 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. Merlots picked 29th August to 8th September. Cabernet Franc in one day - 12th September. Maturation in 55% new oak. 13.8% alcohol. 20,800 bottles to be produced.
The 2025 Les Cruzelles was picked on August 29 for the Merlot, and September 8 and 12 for the Cabernet Franc, and was raised in 55% new oak. This is neat and tidy on the nose, brisk blackberry, blueberry and violet scents that gain vigour in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins that seem to make this Lalande-de-Pomerol just "glide". Precise and delivering perfect acidity, this is a beautifully crafted Les Cruzelles that lingers in the mouth, white pepper on the aftertaste. Drinking Window

Cruzelles is a real standout this year, with a deep colour and rich nose of black fruit. There are layers of damson, cassis and dark cherry with a little sandalwood and cigar box on the nose. The palate is powerful and rich, with ripe and layered tannins framing an intense core of dark fruit. Tightening to the finish, there is depth and focus to this year's iteration that makes it one of the best I can remember in recent years. Vibrant acids lift everything on the finish, leaving you wanting to take another sip.
Medium- to full-bodied with stylish fruit that’s grainy yet concentrated, supported by velvety tannins that will continue to evolve. Well balanced. 85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc.
Bright violet and floral, even chamomile, character in Les Cruzelles, with cloves and toasted grilled herbs. 55% new oak. Harvest August 29 to September 12. Needs some time in the glass to totally kick into action but this is luscious. Noémie Durantou winemaker.
The 2025 Les Cruzelles is another stellar wine in this range from sisters Noëmie and Constance Durantou. There's a bit more clay in this section of the vineyard, which comes through in the wine's broad textures and darker fruit profile vis-à-vis La Chenade. Black cherry, lavender, cloves, menthol and licorice add to an impression of somber gravitas. This will need time in the cellar, as the tannins are formidable. 2030 - 2043
