Deepest purplish crimson. Scented with the Douro’s rock rose and Touriga’s bergamot and violets, plus rich black and blue fruit. Less obviously fruity on the palate, the dry finesse of the tannins dominating at this youthful stage. Elegant and, although it is more approachable than the Chryseia 2023, this still needs time in bottle, even if you could approach it now with food. Tannins are firm but extremely smooth. Harmonious now but likely to become more silky and complex with age even if it is designed for younger drinking than the Chryseia. Drink: 2028-2034
