Tasting Notes

The 2005 Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva has a more Mediterranean profile with aromas of fennel and thyme, with a core of red fruit, a velvety and round palate and fine, polished tannins. In comparison with the Bosconia Gran Reserva, this is more austere and serious. It was produced with 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacho and the rest Graciano and Mazuelo, fermented in the old oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in those old vats and well-seasoned American oak barrels for 14 years. It has a contained 12.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.4 and 6.6 grams of acidity. 23,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2019.
