The flagship pinot noir features fruit from Jim and Daisy Chatto's property in Glaziers Bay in the Huon Valley. It's a vineyard selection of the best blocks and clones of a particular vintage, 15% whole bunch this year. It's a beautiful wine; lithe, intricate and complex, with fine, feathery tannins and bright maritime acidity. Red and dark cherries flecked with raspberry, exotic spice, crushed stone, undergrowth, kombu, poached rhubarb and dried meats. Finely weighted, with a harmonious, textural flow on the palate, flavours drawing out nicely. Just a sprinkle of meadow herbs joins that pure, spicy fruit on the exit. Top notch.
