Tasting Notes

Deep ruby-garnet colour. Initially savoury on opening, with air this reveals sweet black cherries, leather, dark chocolat and dried flowers. The palate is sumptuous in furit that is matched by the mature tones of cedar, leather and savoury spice. The tannins are succulent and fully integrated but prop the fruit up nicely. Bringing together the richness of the vintage and elegance of this Margaux property, this is an excellent, mature Segla. Give it a 30 minute decant before approaching to fully appreciate the aromatics.

Thomas Parker MW, Farr Vintners, February 2022

If you only buy one wine from this offer, then this is it. Under the control of John Kolasa (formerly of Chateau Latour) and the ownership of Chanel, no expense is being spared here to elevate this 2nd growth to its former glory. Amazingly, more of the fruit of this outstanding vineyard goes into this, the second wine, than into Rauzan Segla itself. Highly recommended.
