Tasted single blind at FINE magazine's vertical in Dusseldorf. This has a rustic bouquet, quite ferrous with decayed red-berried fruit, smoke and chestnut. Moderate intensity. The Cabernet Franc is pronounced here. The palate is medium-bodied, the tannins a little hard and obdurate, firm backbone, touches of dried blood and spice towards the dry, slightly austere yet still satisfying finish. Blind, I suspected it might be the '86 rather than the '88. Tasted February 2011.
