Tasting Notes

Robert Parker, Bordeaux Book (4), December 2003

This Pessac-Léognan absolutely blew us away when tasted blind last week. Fabulous silky vanilla-infused new oak and loads of ripe, almost decadent fruit. So gorgeous that it can be drunk now but clearly 20 years of drinking life ahead of it. Wonderful stuff.

Farr Vintners, Blind 2000 Tasting 23/5/03, June 2003

Aromas of lead pencil, tobacco leaf, licorice, and creme de cassis are offered in an outstanding, medium to full-bodied, concentrated style. There is tremendous purity as well as flavor dimension. This opaque ruby/purple-colored offering is one of the finest de Fieuzals produced over the last decade. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2022.

Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (139), February 2002

The earthy, dense purple-colored 2000 is narrowly constructed, but it exhibits pure, smoky, black currant and cherry fruit, mineral, and new oak aromas. Medium-bodied, with sweet tannin, and a well-defined, structured personality and finish, it will be at its peak between 2003-2015.
