This wine might turn out to be outstanding. It is the best wine proprietor Pascal Chatonnet has yet produced. A deep saturated purple color, with a sweet nose of black cherries and blackberries, it is sweet, rich, meduim to full-bodied, with low acidity and plush, concentrated fruit flavors. The wine reveals some tannin, but itt is largely obscured by the impressive ripeness and fleshy style. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2014. Last tasted, 1/03.

Produced by highly respected oenologist, Pascal Chatonnet, this new entry into the St.-Emilion portfolio exhibits a deep saturated purple color along with a sweet nose of jammy black cherries, raspberries, and currants. Ripe and full-bodied, with outstanding flavor extraction and decent acidity, the 2000 l'Archange (like many wines of this vintage) possesses high tannin, but impressive ripeness as well as a sense of fullness. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2016.
