Rich and sweet and round. Some greenness. Heavy but opulent. Not bad at all. Though a bit hot on the finish.
Medium ruby, slight fade at the rim. This has a nose of ripe red and black cherries, layered with light cedar and mushroom notes and a hint of smoke. The palate is soft, smooth and round with the fine and supple tannins fully integrated into the wine. The black fruit core is balanced by an earthy intensity making for a complete and complex palate which is at a perfect point of maturity. The savoury fruit character and light smoky undertones linger on the finish to make this a classic and moreish wine at a price point that makes it truly superb value for money. Ideal for drinking from now to 2020.
Deep colour, full and really good spicy, plummy fruit, tannins still quite firm, but good Pauillac-style Médoc with more ripeness than many. Drink 2012-18.
