There is excellent complexity to the spicy aromas of earth, leather and moderate amounts of sous-bois. The attractively textured, rich and solidly concentrated medium weight flavors exude a subtle minerality on the impressively long finish that flashes hints of rusticity and warmth. This is fully mature, even in the large format bottling, yet it remains both powerful and vibrant and as such, is a wine that should continue to drink well for at least another decade.
