This is notably more complex than the Corton-Grèves because even though the noses are similar, there is more breadth here and just a touch more evident ripeness as well. There is excellent richness to the velvet-textured and more obvious mineral-driven flavors that coat the mouth with dry extract on the satisfying, long and equally complex finish. This is a classic Pougets in style if a bit riper than is typical. Note too that as grand cru pricing and value goes, Jadot's Pougets is consistently one of the top bargains.
Good medium red. Reticent nose hints at redcurrant, cherry, smoke, menthol and mocha. Juicy, fine-grained and concentrated; in an essentially tender style but with very good definition and lift. Lovely perfume and energy for 2009. Really resounds on the back end, with fine tannins dusting the entire palate.
