Here the notably ripe nose offers up liqueur-like dark berry fruit aromas that leads to big, rich and overtly bold and still compact large-scaled flavors that evidence obvious muscle and power before culminating in a very firm, intense, explosive and driving finish that delivers outstanding length. This is a formidable wine with dense and mouth coating tannins that will require at least 15 years to fully resolve and 20 would not surprise me. Note that unlike some of these '09s, this is very definitely not for early consumption as it is presently almost aggressively austere.
Medium red. Very ripe but vibrant aromas of crushed stone, fresh herbs, white pepper and iodine, with a touch of prune. Then silky and primary in the mouth, with captivating forest floor, mineral and tree bark flavors perked up by white wine notes of hazelnut and peach. Wonderfully vibrant, saline, multidimensional wine that broadens out impressively on the back end and leaves the salivary glands quivering. The best 2009 of this collection today along with the Clos de Beze, but the Musigny is a dark horse.
Here the nose resembles quite closely that of the Fuées though the flavor profile is bigger, richer and
bolder evidencing obvious muscle and power and culminating in a very firm, intense, explosive and driving finish that delivers
outstanding length. This is a big wine with dense and mouth coating tannins that will require at least 15 years to fully resolve
and 20 would not surprise me. (92-94)/2024+
