The purity of fruit in this white is phenomenal. It's like looking through a thin, perfectly clear crystal. Aromas of sliced apples, lemons, fresh pineapples and lilacs. Full body but perfectly balanced between fruit and acidity. Mineral and intense. Lightly salty and bitter like a peach pit. Electrifying wine. Greatest white ever from here. It lasts for minutes on the palate. 73% sauvignon blanc and 27% sémillon.
A blend of 72.9% Semillon and 27.1% Sauvignon, the 2011 has a very strict, focused bouquet with Granny Smith apple, lime zest, lemon rind and a touch of chalk dust. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with an edgy citric thread and than it fans out beautifully towards the very delineated finish. This is a fabulous wine with great precision and length. Tasted April 2012.
Ripe for the vintage, but the concentration is not out of place here. It's a rich, floral, focused, beautifully poised white Bordeaux with smoky oak, citrus fruit intensity, delightful freshness and a herbal finish that lingers on the palate. There isn't very much of this, but it's a supremely classy white with a long, tapering finish. 5+ years
Pale lemon gold, white flowers and yellow fruits nose, superb fleshy yet racy flavours, terrific presence, texture, weight and acidity. A great wine.
This is phenomenal white with an iodine and salty character with dried lemon and papaya with hints of oyster shell. Layered and intense. This is amazing. Full and intense. It goes on for minutes. Can't believe it. Structure of a red wine. This has a little more Sauvignon Blanc from new plantings in the best parcels in the blend than in the past.
