Romanée Saint Vivant, Domaine de l'Arlot 2009

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a .25 ha parcel that was planted in 1973 - an average vintage produces 3 barrels**
Leriche told me last year that 2009 produced the best grapes that he had ever seen from this parcel. As is usually the case, this is the most elegant, complex and spiciest nose that also reflects notes of very ripe red berry, rose petals and hoisin. There is overt ripeness as well to the seductively textured, intense and unusually powerful flavors that possess excellent depth of material and huge length. This is a relatively big yet quite sophisticated wine where the tannins are fine but dense and this firm effort will require significant cellar time to reach its prime drinking point.
