Romanée Saint Vivant, Domaine Sylvain Cathiard 2010

Tasting Notes

Here the nose is relatively reduced though it seems readily apparent that the underlying fruit is ripe and this impression is corroborated by the excellent phenolic ripeness of the remarkably fine tannins that shape the equally refined, detailed and silky middle weight flavors. This restrained and understated effort has it all including superb depth and length plus a poise that can only be described as Zen-like. A wine that 'wows' but does so by virtue of its immaculate sense of spherical harmony rather than through sheer size and weight
