Chambertin, Domaine Jacques Prieur 2010

Tasting Notes

A touch of spice sets off the intensely sauvage character that is reinforced by the presence of forest floor and humus scents on the ultra-pure and cool nose that closely resembles the fruit profile of the Gevrey 1er. The mineral-inflected, intense and muscular flavors evidence plenty of the hallmark austerity that one expects in young Chambertin, all wrapped in a long, persistent and very firm finish. I very much like the balance and this should age well, indeed it will definitely need it. Note: from 5 separate parcels in both Chambertin and Clos de Bèze, which measure .14 ha
