Tasting Notes

2010 Lalande-Borie has a feisty and animated bouquet, more red fruit than black, with attractive pencil lead scents coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip, tobacco and graphite, quite penetrating and sharp on the finish. Bottle age will just smooth out the edges, but I appreciate the energy in situ. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal. Drink 2022-2035.

Currants and dark fruits with hints of licorice. Full and silky with ripe tannins and berry. Cigar tobacco and berry. Sweet tobacco. This is a wine that shows serious depth of fruit and refined tannins. Better in 2016.

Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux 2010 tasting. The Chateau Lalande Borie 2010 has quite a herbaceous, tertiary bouquet that is broody and introspective. The palate is medium-bodied with fine delineation and poise, fine tannins and a composed, tobacco-infused finish that fans out nicely. This is very fine. Tasted January 2014.
