A terrific Sercial, the 1875 is a mid mahogany colour with green almonds, old leather, spice box and dried fig all on show. The palate is defined by that same flavour profile and a robust acid backbone, which in combination with the age and power makes this feel almost dry and simply glossy despite its residual sugar. Saline, with high purity and real finesse, this is a brilliant, mature but energetic wine, remarkably sprightly at 150 years old.
