Extremely sweet and soft and even a bit flabby - a little too much black cherry richness for me. But François Mitjavile assures us that his wines will still be going strong when many earlier-picked ones will have fallen flat on their faces.
Full medium ruby. Aromas of blueberry, black cherry, pepper and oak. Sweet and fairly fat but with less verve and definition than the Tertre-Roteboeuf I tasted next to it. With its licorice and herb notes and its dusty tannins, this comes across as a bit rustic in flavors and texture. Not up to the quality of the past couple of vintages.
