**Note: from a small .08 ha parcel on the Chassagne side worked only by horse; raised in a 350 liter barrel**
A discreet but not invisible application of wood sets off the gorgeously well-layered and super-fresh nose that is comprised by notes of white peach, pear, apple, lavender, Asian-style tea and a hint of sandalwood. The detailed and amazingly well-focused broad-shouldered flavors display a much more discreet minerality on the equally long and beautifully well-balanced finale that is just a whisper more complex than that of the Chevalier. Interestingly this is not an especially big wine in the context of what is typical for Montrachet; rather it is a Montrachet that combines power with finesse but also with spectacular length. If you can find it and can afford the seriously steep tariff, buy it.
