A big, dark wine, 2010 Barolo Riserva Cascina Dardi is dense, powerful and structured, with massive tannins that need time to settle down. Black cherry, menthol, licorice, tobacco, cloves and a host of dark, balsamic-inflected notes build into a crescendo of aromas and flavors on the huge finish. Like all the Fantino wines, the 2010 Barolo Riserva starts off a bit rustic and then finds greater finesse with time in the glass. Readers should plan on being patient with the 2010. Drink between 2024-2040
