As stated in the review of the 1989 and 1990 Bordeaux, the 1993 Le Tertre-Roteboeuf's color is a deep ruby/purple. The nose offers up backward, unevolved, sweet, plum, black-cherry, and cassis aromas, with a touch of earth and new oak. Dense, medium to full-bodied, and moderately tannic, this is not the exotic, open-knit, flamboyant style of the 1989 and 1990, but it is an impressively-endowed wine that will benefit from another 3-5 years of cellaring; it should keep for 15-20 years. It is an impressive 1993 that is selling for about one-fifth the price of the 1989 or 1990. Anticipated maturity : 2001-2015.
