Reduction and wood are presently all that is discernible on the pungent nose. The succulent, round, concentrated and voluminous flavors possess a seductive, even silky, mouth feel while delivering seriously good length on the powerful yet refined finish. This too should age effortlessly for a decade, indeed perhaps even longer.
Tasted blind, the 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes is exceptional, unfurling in the glass with a classy bouquet of hazelnut cream, ripe lemon and pear. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with chewy extract and considerable depth at the core, blanched by bright, tangy acids. This was a terrific showing for Sauzet. 2020 - 2035
