2016 is the first vintage that Jadot produced a Meursault Perrières from their own vines, having recently acquired this parcel. The wine is lovely, offering up aromas of citrus zest, spring flowers and chalky soil tones, followed by a full-bodied, concentrated palate impression with good depth and a taut, minerally finish.
The 2016 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières is the first vintage that is domaine, as Jadot now owns the vineyard instead of buying in the fruit. It has a straightforward bouquet with lime flower, smoke and walnut coming through with aeration. The palate is well balanced with good acidity, quite rich in style although I am seeking more stoniness, more mineralité to come through on the finish and define it as a Perrières. This is one where I feel it might have been better to pick a day or two earlier. Drink Date 2019 - 2028
