As one would reasonably expect, this can't begin to match the elegance of the Musigny yet it is wonderfully complex in its own right though the ripe dark berry fruit aromas are more earth, game, humus and autumnal in character. Interestingly, the broad-shouldered flavors are not quite as concentrated yet there is plenty of power and muscle, all wrapped in a moderately austere and impressively persistent finish where the power really builds from the mid-palate. Moreover there is so much sap that this is one of the few wines among these grands crus that could be approached after 7 to 8 years though it will require 20 to 25 to reach its full peak. Drink 2034+
