A pungent nose combines notes of petrol, straw, pear and a whiff of citrus rind. I like both the volume and punch of the middle weight flavors that emanate a subtle minerality on the clean, dry and moderately complex finale. This saline-inflected effort should drink well young.
Monopole. 80% in oak, some new. Five months in tank. Winemaker Jérôme Flous says he has learned that he used to bottle too early - the extra time in tank is very important. Lots of ripe but quite tart/fresh citrus and a firm chewy texture. Impressive intensity and freshness with depth and length. Drink 2019-2024.
