This lieu-dit Bourgogne Rouge sits among the vines of Gevrey Chambertin, and in fact used to be classified as such. Arlaud's vines were planted here over 50 years ago and are farmed biodynamically, the producer's intricate knowledge of Gevrey aiding in bringing superb quality fruit to the winery. The 2014 is a bright ruby-purple in the glass, with sappy, crunchy strawberry and cherry fruit on the nose which is high-toned and almost peppery. The palate is crisp, crunchy and approachable, with delicate red fruits and cherry blossom rising above that touch of grip synonymous with the village. The tannins however are ripe and supportive - this wine is certainly ready to drink and will offer great pleasure at an early age, providing superb value for money.
