The 2016 Tertre Blanc is an equal blend of Chardonnay, Viognier, Gros Mansang and Sauvignon Blanc, which is an idea that the late Denis Dubourdieu gave to Château du Tertre. It is a small 1.5-hectare holding and of course, due to the grape varieties, it must be labelled as a Vin de France. It has quite an exotic bouquet thanks to the Viognier: peach skin, nectarine and orange blossom. The palate is well balanced with fresh acidity, touches of lemongrass complementing the tropical tones, fresh and lively all the way through to the finish. Just a delicious, quirky white Bordeaux.
An array of yellow orchard fruit with tropical and citrus fruit, leading to an attractive palate that has a fleshy middle section and a composed, long and concentrated finish. Fresh and linear. Equal parts sauvignon blanc, viognier, chardonnay and gros manseng. Drink in the next five years.
