Wow. This continues to get better in the bottle. I tasted it two years ago but the aromas and intensity are incredible. Wet earth, violets, dark fruits. Seems like a bubbling lagar full of freshly picked grapes. Full-bodied and lightly sweet with ultra-fine tannins. Long, long finish. Fascinating undertone of almonds and tar. The balance is near perfect. Drink or hold.
The same colour as the regular vintage. Much more restrained on the nose than the regular Niepoort vintage. But amazing class. Sucky stones and not that sweet. SO mineral and individual.
