A Sauternes with pretty richness and a very sweet palate. Some spice at the end. Wait and see.
Cloudy sample. Ripe, gently honeyed citrus. Broad and ripe but with a decent core of freshness to balance. Opulent in sour-apricot fruit. Moreish even though so sweet, the texture helps to hold your attention. 13.6%
Drink 2025-2038
Bright gold in colour with a heady and powerful nose of dried apricots and honeyed peaches. The palate is pure in dried fruit character, with a honey-like richness of texture. This is plush and opulent, with balancing rather than refreshing acidity and lots of toasty, creamy oak. One for the true sticky fanatic, or those willing to lay this down for more than a decade.
(80 Semillon, 10 Sauvignon Blanc, 10 Muscadelle) The nicest and most well balanced of the bunch this year, this wine is always a treat and, surprisingly, there is serious complexity and richness here and the flavour is long and classy, too.
